    My Gun Projects

Here are a few pics of my semi DSHK build from the prints provided by EZFEED, this build was on a polish set.

This project would have never come to life without the great prints posted over at EZFEEDs DSHK forum which can be found HERE

Other than the feed cover and feed tray every single component of the dshk rec group gets fairly heavily modified to remove the feautres which are full auto specific. Before any welding of the rec components I spent a week modifying all the internal components to semi auto configuration. Before any of the rec scrap was welded back together the rails were completly welded up to positively prevent insertion of the FA bolt and bolt carrier as well as welding the lower rail so that an FA sear housing could not be put in place. Two large rails were also welded into the center rec section which provided an additional block preventing insertion of any FA related internal components.

Pin hole to block FA flap pin, a hardened pin was permenantly welded in this hole. The opening at the top is for the firing pin spring mount to clear.

This pic shows the two large rails that are welded into the top of the rec scrap befor any of the pieces are rejoined. These rails prevent the insertion of a FA bolt and FA bolt carrier.

The rear of the carrier is welded up so that an unmodified FA carrier cannot be inserted in the carrier, the bottom of the carrier has also been machined awy eliminating the area that engages the sear. After these two important modifications were done converting the bolt to semi configuration the rail hieght was reduced to match the reduced hieght rail openings in the modified rec scrap.

The sear housing is modified in such a way that the FA sear cannot possibly be inserted, the lower rail of the rec is also modified so an unmodified sear housing cannot be attached to the semi rec.

Here is a pic of the semi bolt, bolt carrier and flap pin. You can see the slot that runs length wise in the top of the flap pin for the floating firing pin. The hieght of the bolt and flaps has been reduced after the other semi mods were done to clear the FA parts blocking rails welded into the semi rec.

here is a different angle view of the modifications to the internal parts to convert them to semi auto configuration.

In this pic you can see the front .2" has been machined off the front of the flap pin making it impossible for it to make contact with the firing pin when the bolt and carrier come into battery. After the front was machined away and a slot was cut length wise in the top of the flap pin for the floating firing pin, the lower rear portion was modified to allow insertion into the semi only bolt carrier and a relief was machined for the hardened pin welded in the bolt that prevents insertion of an FA flap pin.

here is another view of the modified flap pin clearly showing the slot for the floating firing pin.

My polish set was cut right thru the locking recess for the flaps so I machined a pair of copper flaps to fill the recesses for rewelding.

Before any attempt to rejoin the rec scrap was made I welded up the rec rails to prevent insertion of a Full auto bolt carrier.

Slow going but every inch was welded up to prevent any problems with NFA compliance, the center section also had rails welded in place which run the full length of the inside top of the rec, positively preventing the insertion of any FA related components. The lower rails that the FA sear housing slides on also had the front 1" on each side welded up to prevent the assembly of an FA sear housing.

In this pic you can see the lower rails welded to prevent the attachment of the FA sear housing. Also note that all these individual block and modifications were clearly done before any atempt to rejoin any of the rec scrap pieces.

Top bbl is the original DSHK , the middle one is an m2 bbl turned to fit the dshk and the bottom one is an unmodified m2 bbl.
